Aloha, My name is Simone Steele I am the leader and founder of Manea Polynesia. My journey began years ago when I ventured to the United States from the culturally rich land of Brazil. I began to learn with a very prestigious Polynesian Dance Group "Sumeo’s Vahine Ali'i” at the age of 16. I couldn't even speak English at the time, but Sounds of the Toere ( Tahitian Drum) captured my heart. Imagine trying to move your hips without knowing what the teacher is saying!!! Growing up with the Polynesian Culture really showed me the beauty of the people, family, and dance. With my love and dedication, I've become well know as a strong Tahitian Dancer in Denver. I have Professionally performed at countless venues throughout Denver and the surrounding areas since 1994 and after starting this halau, I realized that the opportunities brought through teaching Hula and performing are remarkable.

From decade long friendships to grateful and passionate clients, I've found more rewards in this community than I ever thought possible.  But every day, I'm reminded of why we are here, why we keep dancing, and why we keep bringing new members into this unique Halau: The Aloha spirit.
